KATA IS THE SOUL OF KARATE AND SANCHIN IS THE HEART OF KARATE.

Karate kata is the way in which we learn the techniques of karate, each kata provides us with new ways of applying our self defence techniques

The Bunkai is the application of these self defence techniques with a partner.

Sanchin is the kata which helps us develop power strength and speed, Sanchin also offers us better health. There are several ways of practicing Sanchin, and the related Sanjan kata.

UCHINADI :- This refers to the traditional Okinawan martial art of Karate. Uchinadi is the old pre 1900 karate and holds the secrets of the traditional bunkai methods hidden within the karate kata, and is closley linked to the techniques of White Crane developed by the Shaolin monks.

At Ni Kawa Kai we have a research group that continually search for and practise the older more effective techniques of Uchinadi and White Crane martial arts.
