AIKIDO is a modern development of the eairlier Samurai Aikijutsu, by O'Sensei Morihei Ueshiba. Aikido is the way of harmonisation of energy, a non agressive art form for spritual and self-development. Aikijutsu is the practical application for self defence.

At Ni Kawa Kai we practice our Aiki alongside karate, Kobudo and Iaijutsu, giving a total understanding of the practicality of the Aiki-techniques, under one roof. We call our art Bujutsu.(Wu-Shu in Chinese).

Aiki is allways practised with a partner, the techniques are effective at close range and offer you the peacefull alternative to self defence.

We also provide the envrionment for spiritual development providing meditation classes for those with an active interest in these aspects of the Oriental martial arts.

JODO the art of the short stick is also part of Aikido, and exists in Iaijutsu and kobudo, a great suppliment to your training, as sticks are always available for self defence.
